Sachin scored a double century but missed the final day's play of the second Test with an injury, while Gambhir was out due to swelling in his knee. Sachin's selection in the third Test would make him move past Steve Waugh's 168 Tests to become the top test player in the world. Returning of Gambhir along with Yuvraj Singh, who missed the second Test, has given India a selection headache after their replacements performed well. Murali Vijay scored a half century and Suresh Raina, a century.
Dhoni's major concern is bowling attack, which has failed to bowl a single side out this tour. Although fast bowler Ishant Sharma and Abhimanyu Mithun captured 9 of the 15 wickets, the attack has missed fast bowlers Zaheer Khan and Sreesanth and gave 514-9, 520-8 and 642-4. He said they play a lot of Tests, ODIs and they need fast bowlers who are fit, who can play with their best bowling attack.
