Franklin's 50

James Franklin led New Zealand with a unbeaten half-century as they recovered from a poor start against India in the ODI on Saturday. Franklin batted after coming in at 49/4 in the 16th over. He top-scored for the New Zealand with 5 fours and one six in 108 balls while McCullum made 43 in 53 balls with 4 fours. The only opener Martin Guptill (12) and Scott Styris (22) reached the double figures score in display.

For India, Zaheer Khan (2/31), Yusuf Pathan (2/37) and Ashwin (2/49) shared 6 wickets among them while Munaf Patel swiped in with one. McCullum was caught in second slip by Murali Vijay. New Zealand could not recover from the loss of the openers as Zaheer and Munaf Patel, who bowled tough, kept them on a temp though Ashish Nehra disappointed. The 100 of the innings came up after the 28th over was completed and New Zealand lost their seventh wicket. India made two changes, bringing in Zaheer Khan and Ravindra Jadeja for Sreesanth and Suresh Raina. New Zealand also made a couple of changes, bringing in Brendon for Jamie How and Franklin for Southee.
