FA want English manager

On Saturday, director of football Trevor Brooking said the Football Association (FA) want England's next manager to be English after Fabio Capello. Two of the last three England managers have been foreign, with Sweden's Eriksson taking the team to the 2006 World Cup finals before handing over to Steve McClaren. Capello replaced him as manager in 2008 and had his contract extended by two years to 2012 before England's poor performance at the World Cup in South Africa.

Former England midfielder Brooking said he think after Fabio, they would like to go for English. They want to create a spell where they appoint English coaches, and Fabio can help them to bridge that gap. They have got a short-term of the qualifying games for Euro 2012 but over the next couple of years the National Football Centre will be built, and that's going to be the site for the future development of English coaches.
